Gyrotonic Expansion System®

The art of exercising and beyond

Over 30 years ago professional Romanian dancer, Juliu Horvath, developed the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods to heal himself and regain strength and agility after a series of debilitating dance injuries.

Today these methods are taught by qualified trainers in over 52 countries and have gathered a large, loyal following.

Made for everyone

The Gyrotonic Expansion System is highly adaptable, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of age, physical ability or previous experience.

It offers benefits to dancers, athletes, expecting mothers, senior citizens and people with disabilities alike.

Gyrotonic
Gyrokinesis

What is the difference?

Gyrotonic excercises are performed on custom-designed Gyrotonic equipment while Gyrokinesis is performed on a mat and chair.

Both methods involve exercise sequences which are composed of gently spiralling, circular movements. The movements flow gracefully into each other, creating rhythmical repetitions with corresponding breathing.

The body is guided through a natural range of motion, improving flexibility, strength and agility.

The class configurations themselves are adaptable, ensuring there is a class to meet each individual's needs. Core Sense offers individual classes and group classes consisting of 2-4 people.
